Christmas Fayre Menu 2008
At £27.95 per head Inc vat
Starters
Homemade Leek, Potato and Bacon soup, swirled with fresh cream and topped
with
Crunchy parmesan toasts served with a baked crusty bread roll & butter.
(V) Chilled Van dyke Galia Melon decorated with fresh Winter fruits laced
with
Peach Schnapps and topped with iced Blackcurrant sorbet.
Homemade Smoked haddock and local Whitby crab fishcakes, lightly bread crumbed
and served
with a light lemon & lime zesty cream sauce, salad leaves and buttered
brown bread.
(V) Homemade creamy Garlic Mushroom tart topped with a crunchy cheese and
onion crumb
oven baked and served on a dressed beef tomato and red onion salad.
Crayfish Tails and North Atlantic Prawn cocktail layered with Brandied Marie
Rose sauce, diced apple and
crisp Iceberg lettuce. Presented with a slice of buttered Cranberry and Rosemary
bread.
Main Courses
Please accept a glass of Georges DuBoeuf red or chilled white wine to enjoy
with your meal – cheers!
Traditional home roasted Turkey accompanied with chestnut and apricot stuffing,
bacon wrapped chipolata sausage, roast potato, homemade Yorkshire pudding
and rich pan gravy.
Grilled Sirloin steak served with Grilled tomato Crispy battered onion rings
and presented with a
Brandy flambéed ‘Burnt’ Garlic, black pepper and fresh
cream reduction.
Grilled fillet of fresh Scottish Salmon stuffed with Tiger Tail Prawns and
wilted fresh spinach
served on ribbon vegetables with a Chablis, chive and lemon cream.
Oven roasted fillet of Pork filled with sautéed spring onions and
mushrooms set on pan-fried
seasoned leek greens with a roasted garlic and Chardonnay cream sauce.
(V) Baked Chestnut, Cranberry and Spinach tartlet topped with melted Saint
Agur cheese and served
with a roasted cherry tomato and shallot compote.
Desserts
(V) Traditional steamed Christmas pudding served with warmed Brandy cream
sauce.
(V) A Duo of Homemade Milk chocolate & Black cherry Brûlèe
and White chocolate & Raspberry Brûlèe
served with Brandy snap cone and shortbread biscuit.
(V) Homemade fresh strawberry Cranachan layered with heather honey, toasted
oats, a touch of
Scotch Whisky and crunchy meringue folded into lashings of fresh cream. Decorated
with a red berry coulis.
(V) Homemade individual Bilberry & Apple tart served warm with creamy Cinnamon ice cream and fresh cream.
(V) A Selection of British & Continental Cheeses served from our trolley
with grapes, celery and biscuits
Presented with a Glass of Port.
Coffee
Freshly brewed Cafetiere of piping hot Coffee served with fresh cream
accompanied with mince pies and ‘Christmas’ chocolates.
Freshly brewed Yorkshire Tea with milk or lemon may be taken as an alternative.
